Nicole and Nora spend their days as two warm loaves with full veto power over my desk. They are spoiled, adored, and entirely unbothered by any of it. Not every dog gets that start.

So we're raising money for Animal Haven, and we'd love you to chip in.
Help abandoned cats and dogs find a home
Every dollar goes straight to Animal Haven, not to us.
Who they are
Animal Haven is a New York shelter that has been finding homes for abandoned cats and dogs since 1967. Nearly sixty years of it. They're based in SoHo, at 200 Centre Street, and they serve the whole tri-state area.
The part that gets me: they're a no-kill shelter. No clock, no time limit. Every animal stays in their care for as long as it takes to find the right home. For a nervous dog who needs months to trust a human again, that patience is the whole ballgame.
What your money actually does
Animal Haven does more than open a door and hope. They fund the unglamorous, expensive parts of a rescue:
- Medical care and surgeries through their Recovery Road Fund, for animals who arrive needing real help.
- Behavior rehabilitation for the dogs everyone else gave up on.
- Foster care, enrichment outings, and post-adoption support so a match actually sticks.
They're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a four-star Charity Navigator rating, which is a polite way of saying the money goes where they say it goes.
Why us
We're a small pet page run out of New York, built around two mini dachshunds who never had to worry about a home. It feels right to point some of that good fortune back toward the shelters doing the hard part. If the girls have ever made you smile, this is a lovely place to spend that goodwill.
Ready to help?
A few dollars covers a meal. A little more covers a vet visit. All of it goes to Animal Haven.
Donations are processed by Animal Haven directly. Nicole & Nora receive nothing from your gift.
Thank you, from all four of us. Two of whom are asleep as I write this.
